Classic Namibia tour is an engaging journey.

In the scenic beauty and cultural diversity of Namibia, as well as in its natural parks and curiosities of a country absolutely worth knowing. A trip also suitable for families with children and teenagers.

“Classic Namibia” is a tour created to visit the most renowned places in Namibia, starting from Waterberg Plateau Park; safaris follow in the Etosha Park to admire its animals, Opuwo and Epupa Falls where the Himba people live, Damaraland with breathtaking landscapes and a visit to the rock site of Twyfelfontein, the seals of Cape Cross, Swakopmund with the excursion to to deepen the life of the Namib desert, the Moonlanscape and the endemic plants of Welwitschia mirabilis; the journey ends with the spectacular dunes of Sossusvlei in the Namib Naukluft Park, where the highest dunes in the world are located.

The tour is characterized by overnight stays in GOOD level accommodation, with the “all inclusive” formula.
The trip can be made, if necessary, also in the opposite direction to that described below.
Valentino or Jacqueline will be the local naturalist guide who will accompany you during this complete and full of emotions itinerary.
Duration of the tour: 12 days / 11 nights; departures with pre-established dates (see DEPARTURES CALENDAR page) but also with open dates on request. For TAILOR-MADE TRIPS it is also possible to request changes to the itinerary or accommodation and provide for extensions: as in this program, a visit to the Kalahari desert.
Quotation on request; at the same time, the program will be sent with the complete list of the accommodations provided as well as any changes made to the program you request.

– 4X4 excursion on the desert dunes to Swakopmund;
– Visit to the Valley of the Moon and Welwitschia mirabilis plants;
– Excursion to Sossusvlei.

Travel Program

1st Day – Windhoek – Waterberg Plateau Park

Arrival at Windhoek International Airport; concluded the “State entry” practices, meeting with the guide Valentino or Jacqueline. Departure to the north to reach of the Waterberg Plateau Park; for most of the route the tar road.
The Waterberg Plateau Park, or the mountain of water, is located near Otjiwarongo. Opportunity to walk the path that leads to the top of the Plateau (to be considered a demanding path for the huge boulders and has no handrail).

2nd Day- Waterberg Plateau Park – Park Etosha

Departure for the Etosha park is one of the largest parks in Africa, with an unmistakable landscape and is embellished by the white backdrop of a dry lake. For most of the route the road is paved.
“Etosha” means “great white place”, with reference to the white and dried up lake inside the park.
Etosha park is home to 114 mammal species including various species of antelopes and felines, and 340 bird species that populate it throughout the year.

3rd Day – Etosha Park

At the first light of dawn we will start the safari. Day is dedicated to safari in the park, along various intersecting tracks and roads; we will visit various pools of water and we will observe the animals that go to drink: the thirsty wildebeests, elephants, giraffes, also the black-faced impala, the numerous jumping antelopes, oryxes, Greater kudus, lowland zebras, red alcefali … In the Etosha park there is no shortage of predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, African lynx … and various species of birds such as the Lilac-breasted Roller, Crowned plover, Goshawk, various Eagles …

4th Day – Etosha Park – Opuwo

In the first part of the morning continuation of the safari, leaving the Galton gate.
In the afternoon transfer to Opuwo. This area is inhabited by the Himba d Herero populations and we will be able to observe the typical and curious aspects of the everyday life of “their” city, within a framework of peaceful coexistence between the different ethnic groups.

Day 5 – Opuwo

Today we will drive up to the Epupa Falls on the border with Angola a unique experience thanks to the very picturesque setting of waterfalls, palm trees and Himba villages. Will have the opportunity to stop and visit a traditional Himba village and learn more about there traditional life. We return to Opuwo in the late afternoon.

Day 6 – Opuwo – Palmwag Damaraland

From Koakoland we move to Damaraland, a region of great naturalistic importance and its unique landscape contrasted by its rust and brown colors of the rugged rocky terrain. The area always gives great emotions because of its wildlife that roams the area in perfect freedom.

Day 7 – Twyfelfontein

In the morning we drive to Twyfelfontein arriving at our lodge for lunch. The afternoon will be spent visiting the rock engraving of Twyfelfontein, to reach the various sites will walk among the boulders of sandstone and native vegetation. Twyfelfontein was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Day 8 – Damaraland – Swakopmund

After breakfast departure for the coastal town of Swakopmund. We will observe how the landscape changes, from the dry rivers beds rich in vegetation, and characteristic Salvadoria Damarana plants and reaching the desert coast without any vegetation. Visit the colony of Cape Fur Seals at Cape Cross and arriving in Swakopmund in the afternoon.

Day 9 – Swakopmund

In the morning an exciting excursion in 4X4 on the dunes of the Namib desert near Swakopmund. We will be searching for the curiosities and survival strategies of the creatures that survive in this desert. The Webbed gecko, Namaqua chameleon, white lady are just some of the inhabitants of this desert. All this with the breath taking views of the golden colored dunes overlooking the Atlantic ocean. The afternoon will be free at own leisure in Swakopmund town.

Day 10 – Swakopmund – Sesriem

Departure towards the Namib desert and on our way we will visit the Moon landscape and the typical Welwitschia mirabilis plants endemic to the Namib. We will cross the spectacular Kuiseb Canyon and stop for a photo at the Tropic of Capricorn.

Day 11 – Namib Desert

This morning we depart at sunrise for our visit to the dunes of Sossusvlei. The dunes have a striking apricot colour in the morning and when the first rays of sun illuminate them, perfect time to start taking pictures. We will visit the very suggestive skeleton tree with a white basin named “Deadvlei”. If you feel adventurous, you can climb the tallest dune “Big Daddy”. We will have the opportunity to see also some animals such as springbok, Oryx, ostriches…. In the afternoon we will visit the Sesriem Canyon. The day will draw to an end with a spectacular sunset.

Day 12 – Namib Desert – Windhoek

Early morning transfer to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, transfer to the International Airport in time for your return flight.
