“Botswana Classico” let’s discover one of the most intact natural ecosystems in the world.

Botswana is the temple of wildlife wilderness and one of the most exciting safari destination. A unique country with the clear waters of the Okavango delta and abundant wildlife offering the opportunity to literally immerse yourself into nature and its diversity.

The tour begins in Zimbabwe: more precisely from the Zambezi River, with the imposing Victoria Falls, continue in Botswana with the sensational safaris along the Chobe river in the Chobe National Park. Then we will move to the wide salty depressions of Makgadikgadi pans where we will see the meerkats, spectacular safaris in the magnificent Moremi Game Reserve and finally we fly into the Okavango Delta.

Qualified local english speaking guide will accompany you during this complete and exciting tour.

Travel Program

1st Day – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Upon your arrival at Victoria falls International Airport, collected your luggage and complete the entry formalities, you will find your guide/driver that will be with you for the entire duration of the tour, hereafter head towards your first lodge. Spend the late afternoon relaxing by the poolside or enjoying  a walk in the town centre  with a visit to the craft market and various souvenir shops.

2nd Day- Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls offers many activities options that are neither included in the program nor in the trip price, this to give participants greater freedom of choice. We list some of the options: a spectacular overflight of the falls, a boat cruise on the Zambezi River, an adrenaline-pumping bungee jump from the bridge, rafting or simply strolling among the souvenir shops in the area. In the afternoon we will visit the majestic Victoria Falls with a splendid panoramic walk that will allow us to admire the falls from different angles in order to fully appreciate them.

3rd Day – Victoria Falls / Chobe National Park, Botswana

In the morning we will head towards Botswana. Once the entry formalities have been completed, we will head to Kasane, a town on the edge of the park, located along the Chobe River and gives its name to the famous park, the Chobe National Park. The banks of the Chobe River are rich with rich vegetation, bushes and dense scrub. The riverside is rich with wildlife that comes to drink in the afternoon. In the afternoon we will go on a boat cruise along the river.

4th Day – Chobe National Park

Today there will be two game drives in a 4X4 open vehicle (one in the morning and one in the afternoon)  along the banks of the Chobe river, inside the park. Large herds of elephant and buffalo are frequently seen. With high density of herbivores like impala, kudu, giraffes and the rare sable antelope in this area are many predators, such as lions, leopards and hyenas. Birdlife is very rich with herons, egrets, kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters (just to name a few). Of course the animals are always on the move, sightings are frequent but never guaranteed.

5th Day – Chobe National Park / Makgadikgadi National Park

This morning we will head towards the central part of Botswana. Overnight will be in a quite characteristic lodge, in style inspired by the Kalanga tribe with a traditional layout starting from the huts called “Bakalanga Hut”. These are hut-shaped rooms, simple and welcoming, equipped with all comforts and private bathroom and shower. The lodge is one of a kind and decorated in ethnic colours. Arrival is expected in the afternoon, we will have time to take a pleasant walk around the lodge to visit and photograph the gigantic baobab trees around the area.

6th Day – Makgadikgadi National Park / Maun

The day starts very early and is dedicated in visiting the Makgadikgadi area: this activity is organised by the lodge with an open 4X4 vehicle and local guide. The drive aims to introduce you to a completely different ecosystem; a landscape as far as the eye can see; a territory with endless rolling sandy plains and ancient dried up white pans. This vast complex of salt pans covers around 10,000km2 and is home to numerous meerkat families. Our aim is visit a habituated wild meerkats family, relatively accustomed to the presence of people. In the afternoon we will continue our trip to Maun.

7th Day – Maun / Moremi Game Reserve

From Maun we will be transferred on aboard a small aircraft to reach the Khwai concession, un area bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. The reserve has an extension of just under 5,000 km² and is practically a peninsula that extends towards the Okavango Delta: it is considered one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Africa and is particularly rich in terms of wildlife. Upon our arrival we will be accompanied to our lodge and assisted by our guide who in the afternoon will take as on our first game drive in a open 4×4 vehicle.

8th Day – Moremi Game Reserve

Wake up at dawn with a light breakfast and departure for our game drive; we enter the reserve and we will have the opportunity to visit the most evocative areas of the Moremi Game Reserve. We will cross the savannahs under the watchful eyes of zebras, impalas, kudu, giraffes and other species. With a bit of luck we will spot predators such as leopards, lions, cheetahs and wild dogs. We will drive along the lagoons in search lechwe, hippos and various species of birds: sacred ibis, crowned crane, fish eagle, and many others such as herons, storks, hornbills. At the end of the morning safari, we will have free time to rest and relax until the afternoon game drive which will enrich us with another unforgettable experience.

9th Day – Moremi Game Reserve /Okavango Delta

After returning from the morning game drive, we will be transfer on board small aircraft from Khwai airstip to the Okavango delta. The flight will offer the opportunity to admire from above a wild paradise of waters that flow clear between stretches of savannah and mopane groves, the channels form lagoons rich with water lilies, reeds and papyrus; while the island create oasis of vegetation where many species of animals find refuge. Upon our arrival we will be accompanied to the lodge and assisted by our local guide who in the afternoon will accompany us on the selected activity to discover this wild ecosystem and its many animals that live in total freedom.

10th Day – Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta represents one of the most fascinating ecosystems on the planet and is among the largest inland deltas in the world, and includes permanent swamps and periodically flooded plains that dry up during the dry season; given this timing, plants and animals have synchronised their biological cycles with seasonal rains and floods. The Okavango Delta is home to some of the most endangered animal species in the world such as the cheetah, white rhino, wild dog and lion. Precisely for these reasons it was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Activities are organised by the lodge which offers one in the morning and one in the afternoon. You can choose between boat cruise (the option depends on the water level) or by mokoro (a traditional canoe) on the placid waters of the Okavango but also in open 4X4 vehicles (the option depends on the location of the lodge); then, there is the opportunity of a walking safari with a ranger to discover this special area, in direct contact with nature.

11th Day – Okavango Delta / Maun

After returning from our last morning activity, transfer by a small plane to Maun International Airport in time for the connecting flight back.
